You know what, I am not sure when life changed for me. Sad isn't it. I guess after my marriage of 30 years, or after I was raped by stepfather, or after the sever punishment, (she stuck an iron on my *** of my mother) (LOL) ever feel like Pigpen in the Charlie Brown cartoons. You know what, I was married at your age and already had a child. Life is not always what it seems.

You asked a good question for thought :)
Honestly, I have all good memories. I have children and grand-children. I can't say any specific year, but I would have to say my twenty's were the "best." I had my own car, my own apartment, I paid all my own bills. I really enjoyed life. I was very responsible in my twenties, but it was the most carefree.
As far as birthdays, age never bothered me. Although, when I turned 30, it was more like I thought it would be to turn 40. It was for the fact I was leaving my twenties behind. Honestly, 40 never bothered me at all. Birthday's are just like any other day, I go on doing what I'm doing and one day goes into the next.
Don't be down sweetie, if it's age that's your concern. Believe the old cliche'. It all gets better with age. We all have our ups and downs in life, don't let age bring you down.

Sorry you're feeling down about your birthday. Happy birthday, by the way.
I am not that much older than you, and I have definitely experienced both ups and downs when thinking about my age. But it was more like I thought I should have accomplished certain things by certain ages, and when that didn't happen, I was disappointed. So it had more to do with my expectations for myself, not my age in particular.
Nevertheless, I think that it would be really sad for a person to think that their best years are in their past. I always try to look at how much progress I think I'm making. Decisions I make now can help me to have a better future. So I continue to think that now is the time when I'm really starting to live.

The most significant age for me was 32. That's when I got sober. I drank a lot when I was in the military and I was a selfish person for many years not caring that I hurt others. When I got sober my life changed. I finished college and got a career and I became the person I always wanted to be. And I have the respect of my family which I didn't before. I am 38 now.

My most significant birthday was my 18th because that was when I realized how much people truly cared about me. I'm still 18 but I'll unfortunately be 19 soon...

I felt at my physical and mental best when I was around 32 - 33 years old. I'm 39 now and feel like I'm 25 so it's all good.

So far, I am happy in the age I am now. I concentrate on who I am and not what my numbers are. Happy Birthday to you!!! Enjoy it.
