Right now, the 680 will only work on Cingular or T-Mobile (assuming you are in the US)
They may come out with one for Sprint/Verizon in the future, though.

If you don't already have Cingular/TM, you should know that their data packages are REALLY expensive compared to Sprints. Sprint charges me $15 a month for UNLIMITED internet, SMS messages, Picture mail, and laptop internet. And $35 for a calling plan.

Cingular and Verizon charge $40+ a month JUST FOR INTERNET! So they are much more expensive than Sprint. If you are currently with Cingular, you can transfer you current phone number to Sprint, but of course you can't get the 680 with Sprint yet... The longer you wait, the cheaper the phone gets... Palm will be coming out with the 750 in a month or 2, so that should drive down the price of the 700, and *possibly* the 680 (depends on if Cingular/TM get the 750)

well if you are eligible for an upgrade then its $299 before rebate via cingular, $199 after with purchase of unlimited data plan. If you have a cingular premiere account(like me!!) then the phone is $174.99.

Over at palm.com, they are $399 unlocked and you get to choose from 1 of 4 colors.

Or search ebay, prices ranging from mid $300's up to $500.

If you want to upgrade and can, go the cingular route. If you cant, I say go to palm.com and buy one unlocked.
