check and make sure that the x1300 isnt a crossfire card. If it is and your mobo isnt crossfire enabled and you dont have a crossfire graffics card (diff than a video card) you wont be getting much use out of it. I would go w/ the 7300 or better my self. now that the 8 series is out by nvidia the 7 series will be getting cheepe. Just remember if you dont have a good monitor or the good ram and processor to support your video card it wont matter what type you get anyway.

The nVidia has built-in audio on the PCIe configs which help realize a 20-45% gain in frame rate if video gaming is why you want a better graphics cards. Only the modern mobo do have the PCIe slot. Check if Radeon has that audio feature.
However, if you're going TV-out to a home entertainment system, the audio might be an annoyance.
From what I've read online, the older nVidia -- 4300, 5400 need a different driver for different machines. Radeon just gives all kinds of problems. nVidia supports linux better. After I downloaded the latest driver from nVidia I had no problems in XP or linux.
I've got the GeForce 6150. I would consider my card the minimum for development and gaming, and, I wished I had splurged on the 9300. But, I'm glad I didn't. I'm running 64-bit and discovering there isn't any software yet for 64-bit.

I would like to know that also but I can say that Dell is charging $50.00 more for the X1300 Pro over the 7300LE
256MB nVidia Geforce 7300LE TurboCache [add $50 or $1/month1]
256MB ATI Radeon X1300 Pro [add $100 or $3/month1]
Dell Recommended for an enhanced Windows Vista experience

If you wanna play games too,
most game companys have used Nvidia 3D motor as their game engine so betterto choose Nvidia Gforce than Ati,
remember if you buy a VGA ( with Gforce GPU ) with the same brand of your motherboard ( For example : MSI ),
you will have a better compatibelity.

pci express is better than agp, and both of those cards have pci-e and agp versions. The x1300 pro is definitely better, but Dell's video card prices are rip offs. I would get the worst card possible from them and then buy a card off of newegg. If you need help deciding on a card email me.

If possible, get NVidia Geforce 7600 GT. It's pretty cheap, and gives great graphical performance.

I hate to skirt the question, but a 7600GT is much more powerful and barely more expensive. They start at around $100 on newegg.com.
