if you are in a movie that is sent to a film festival, for example the LA film festival, is there a slightest possibility that some producer pick you out and ask you to be a part of his/her movie?

Yes it is possible but can be rare you would have to be in the right place at the right time. My friend is native he was in one called "Don't call me Tonto" it is an aboriginal comedy film

It is hard to find anything on it but here is a site that has some info on it.

If you are in one of those pieces that catches the eye of film industry people and they like your performance, sure it could happen. I think lots of people get their start in small film. Lots of festivals are basically made to help new people have a shot at it.
