The music is, but the attitude never will. Without the greats like the Ramones or the Clash, we can never expect Punk Rock to ever be the same; However, rebellion existed before punk rock, and as long as there are establishments, there will always be rebellions, and because punk rock embraced these ideals, we can only expect that any future rebellion will have some sort of ties to the punk rock era, no matter how insignificant these ties may be.

Pretty much, there are not too many real Punk bands left. No, Green Day and My Chemical Romance are NOT Punk. Bad Religion and Pennywise are still around I believe but the Genre is dying for sure...

Every genre needs constant revitalization, but there is always a pocket of resistance to a genre completley dying off, I think punk rock is rather healthy right now. They couldn't even kill prog rock- there is no way they can take down punk. it's an institution.

Unfortunately, most of the good bands are broken up, or older and have moved on, so yeah. Gorilla Biscuits, Judge, Reagan Youth, Oppressed Logic, Operation Ivy, Judge, Bad Brains, Dayglow abortions,Verbal Assault, Verbal Abuse. That's some good muzic for you kids out there.

punk rock is like the vampire of music genres it has always been dead that is part of the appeal it is anti-pop

PUNK ROCK IS NOT DEAD!!! not while there are still young minds like myself who rebel against "stuff" and whatnot..... so the answer is ..... NEVER!!!!!
