are u serious? packs of lions have taken down fully-grown male african elephants? i mean c'mon they stand at 12 feet tall at the shoulder and weigh 10-12,000 lbs. are u sure? i think the elephant would hit them with it's trunk and step on them before they could take it down (also have u watched the discovery channel? when an elephant usually male walks towards a pack of lions by itself they scatter like chickens.) are u sure?

I wonder your appetite for wildlife in this single question. All your questions have answers on situation.
1. Hippo is heavier and bulkier. It is one of the most dangerous animals to roam around. If a hippo and rhino fight in water, the hippo will easily easily easily win. But on land, rhino has the speed (force) and armour to give a very tough fight. I believe the rhino could win after a tough fight.

2. There was a story recently in India that a tiger which wanted to feed on a new born elephant calf, killed its mother. This would have been a wonderful eco sight but it was found only on investigation. If this is the case, then I believe a lion can take down an african male elephant depending on these two situations.
a) both are alone
b) if elephant is not alone, it should have a baby calf to guard.

Hope this gives some food for your thought.

Well it depends on the place where the fight is taking place...ya see the Rhino will beat the hippo if they're on land (cuz the hippo doesn't move fast on land). And the Hippo would win in the water cuz it Rhino's can't move fast in water...So yea! depends.

For the elephant....well there is an animal that can beat a male elephant....a t-rex!...u didn't specify ur question...so u didn't say an animal that is alive! hahaha! j/k

Rhino has better armour and weapons.

Packs of lionesses have taken down mature elephants. One on one - maybe none.

i'll take the hippo, have you seen those teeth?
as for the elephant, i think it would take more than one of an animal to take it down.
