assuming you're running Windows XP. Start -> Control Panels -> Power Options.

If you're not running WinXP, then you need to specify which operating system.

You didn't mention if the computer was a laptop or a desktop. If it's a laptop, make sure the battery is charged or the laptop is plugged in. Most PCs will wake from sleep mode by pressing the power button and/or by holding the 'Fn' key for a few seconds. You may want to visit the website of your PC's manufacturer and download the user guide for your PC model.

Hello smhgroundhog1962,

If you have a Macintosh, go into the Apple menu command and down to the System Preferences... Inside the Preferences dialog box, you click in the Energy Saver icon.

Uncheck the box that puts the hard drive to sleep and then drag the sliders for both the computer and the display sleep sliders to "Never". That should do it.

Best of luck to you.
