Just think you young and still in primary school and you tell one of your best friends that you have you period and she goes and tells someone after you've sworn her to secrecy. Then everyone finds out. And imagine you go to a small school (where evryone knows each other). I hate her now and i need to know the best punishment for the witch. I thought she was my friend. And after you find out shes been talking about you behind your back calling you a b**ch and stuff.

Confront her. ask her why she would betray your trust, and if the rumors you are hearing about her calling you a b!@#h are true. As you get older, you will see that friendships thrive on openness and honesty.
Maybe your friend felt left out. I was the last of my friends to get my period, and was green with envy when they all talked about it. I felt left out, and even mad at them, even though it wasn't there fault.
Also, think back: have you been nasty to your friend? Hormones can make woman impossible sometimes. maybe you may have been b!@#hy to her.
if she's really your friend, she'll apologize if you confront her. If not, start looking for new friends. Your period is only the first of many things you will go through during adolecence, and you need someone you can trust and depend on.
as for the whole school knowing, let them talk. In a few days, they will find something new to talk about.
I hope everything works out for you.

Although the idea of revenge is appealing, it is not a very mature response.
I would suggest that you tell blabber-mouth that her behaviour hurt you, and that this was uncalled for. You could remind her that one day, she too will be menstruating, and that she will not want other people to behave towards her as she has behaved towards you.
After that, I would suggest that you don't tell her anything personal, until she demonstrates that she can deal in a more mature manner with personal information.

..be proud of your period..EMBRACE it. dont be embarassed about it. theres nothing to be shy about.

To help with the backstabbing issues I wouldnt even confront her I would just move on..forget about it. It's in the past. I wouldnt even worry about it. Find someone new..If anything she'll get jeaulos because you moved on and found another person who cares about you and you care about too. Its better then sitting and fretting about it. Just move on...you'll have several different friends throughout your life..trust me...been there and dealt with it...not too hard. it is sad to know you arent friends anymore but think of all the great times you and your new friend will have! :o)

THINK POSITIVE!

good luck!

She was never your friend and you will meet several more like her. Keep your secrets to yourself, or make your mother your best friend. Forget about punishing her, she is already one ahead of you. Be the bigger person. You are growing up faster than she is. Talk with your parents about the changes you are going through, you should not feel ashamed or embarrassed by your body.

She's just jealous she's only old enough to pee! Or not the only one old enough to breed! According to female primate group dynamics, you have taken a big step up. That's got to hurt. Her reaction is to be expected. And if you think about it, that's probably not so far from the truth.
Tell her that.

So what ?
It is nothing bad. It proves that you are a woman! You do not have to feel bad about it. Don't give it a 2nd thought and don't trust that friend with your private thoughts.

Congratulations, you learned that women will stab you in the back, even an at early age. Get a bottle of Visine, and squit it in something she is drinking. (Very important, do not let ANYONE see you do this). Sit back and laugh.

Obviously she's just jealous that you are maturing before she is. Just ask her why she did it, and I guarantee you that she will say "I don't know..." cuz she doesn't have anything else better to say. And she's just being immature by spreading rumors. There is nothing wrong with getting your period. :-)
