Cosmetic surgery is a superficial fix to a shallow and vain personality. An alternative which I think much better, is that rather than surgically changing what we perceive to be wrong, we change our perception of what we think is wrong. This makes for a much stronger personality.
Example. If I meat a stunningly perfect woman who is trying to sell me something, I can't help but wonder is she really that stunning, or has she had help and if this is the case, she is a lie and so why should I believe anything she Say's. by contrast, If I were approached by a woman in the same circumstance was less than perfect, i would perceive her as being honest and tend to want to deal with her.

Follow the progress of a comsmetic proceedure after 10 yrs....with photo's.

Point out the deaths from complications of cosmetic surgery.

Ask, why? How old are you? How happy are you with the way you look?

My crazy sister arrived unannounced from Nevada tonight (Im in Maryland). We got into a conversation about plastic surgery, it was quite funny.

I am 58, she is about to be 60 this January. I said, well, I guess Im as vain as the next woman, but..........Im 58, and I think I look good for 58. Then I thought about it a bit more and said, I really don't care that much about packaging.

Sis LOLed..

It is true, I really don't. If you don't like the way I look, o.k. it is not a problem for me, but am I going to go get cut and stitched back together like Frankenstein, ..........nope.

I know Im not a beauty queen. I had my day in the hot looking spotlight and Im fine with this.

Time for the twenty somethings to have their day.

Ill happily be background.

It is a lot less bother.

“We are so vain that we even care for the opinion of those we don't care for.”

If you are trying to find arguments against elective cosmetic surgery, start with vanity.

You have a tough road ahead of you though. I would have a difficult time arguing against it.
