Also, once you gain experience, you can go tend bar in Hawaii, Miami, New York...the possibilities are endless.
Either that or become a private investigator.

Yeah go for it! I have a friend that's a bartender and she gets a lot of extra tips! I think its a great idea especially around the holidays people are a lot more generous! That means more $! Good Luck!

Well if the hours won't bother you. And being around drunks won't bother you, go for it. I used to do it and I enjoyed it. You might as well enjoy what you're doing in life. Plus if you can get work with a catering company to bar-tend weddings, the tips should be really good. And if you decide you don't want to do it full time, it can be a good part time job. You only live once, so go for it.

Go after your passion.
If bartending is your interest, sure pl do it in the evenings.
Pick up skills of flair bartending also.
You pick up all the nuances of business and if things go well you can start your own bar !

It is a pretty good job if you want to work nights and every weekend. That is when you will be in demand the most.
