Hopefully, NONE - since the drives themselves are sealed under "clean room" conditions (like NASA uses)...

If you are referring to the computer itself (the main CPU/tower unit), then you can either use canned, compressed air or a special nozzle on a vacuum cleaner. The first is better, I think - and has less chance of static damage (unless you use a special mini-vacuum).

A computer's hard drive is in a sealed enclosure that is inside your computer. If you are talking about the computer CASE, then get some canned CO2 (available at any office supply store) to help get the dust out of little nooks and crannies. Be sure to protect your hands (wear a glove) while using it; the metal can gets cold very quickly as the CO2 inside is expelled, and I have seen people actually get their hand frozen to the can!

I would not recommend cleaning inside of a hard drive, your hard drive is such a sensitive component inside your computer, your harddrive should never get dirty in the first place, how did your harddrive get dirty? Or are you one of those people that calls a harddrive the computer itself or the inside of your computer, if so the inside of your computer can be cleaned with a can of compressed air , do not use a vacum cleaner it will cause a lot of static discharge and could damage to one or more of your hardware componets inside of your computer

Computer hard drives are sealed units. They can not be cleaned by you. They were built in a dust free environment.

There are computer vacuums you can buy at computer stores. These are little vacuums meant for cleaning dust from your keyboard, and even be used for your CPU! Try looking at Best Buy. I'm sure they would have something!

Get a can of compressed air. They have it at any electronic shop. Wal mart has it too for about $5. This will blow out all the dust.

Don't. Whatever you do will move dust around, and into places you don't want it to be.
