Yes, Nintendo is working toward having 3 Million hit the shelves before Christmas.
Shipments are not all at the same time. They will vary depending on store, reigon, weather and average daily tempature of Mars. There is no deffenate answer as to when your local retailer will get one, often they don't even know, or so they say.
I got mine from Toys R Us and I hear they've got a deal worked out to get more than other retailers.
