well, i don't know all that much about Leonardo Da Vinci. Today he wouldn't be considered as a philosopher, but in his time, he might have been. all the people who were considered as philosophers in the olden times now have categories like astronomers, and scientists. i think that leonardo da vinci would have been place in the regular "artist" category today. he wasn't known for his philosophy, he was known for his paintings.

He was known for more than just his paintings...He was a master painter, sculptor, inventor, engineer, mathematician, architect, hydrologist, anatomist. He was the first Renaissance Man, and the only things that came close to matching his talents were his curiosity, and ingenuity. I wouldn't say he was a philosopher in a manor of speaking. He did a bit of questioning "Why", but he answered more... Look at all the inventions, art work, buildings, and scientific explanation he's has contributed to.

I'd consider everyone to be a pilosopher , though everyone wouldn't have a great philosophy .
