It is very possible that your baby could be born blonde. Keep in mind that brown hair color is dominent and will be the most likely to take over unless you happen to pass the blonde gene in your family down (which sounds like a 1 in 4 chance).

Your baby "will" probably be born blonde, but, with age, the color will probably change to brown after puberty...

Or, your baby can even be almost any color that is in the heritage of either yours, or your husbands family! (Maybe ol great great grandpa had red hair and it may show up as a recessive gene!)...

Unless you know the hair color of both of your family going back at least 6 generations, you wont be able to chart the color of the hair or eyes or much about anything, but, if you did, then you could use Mendolsen's Chart and see how your baby could develope this genetic trait or that genetic trait...

I wish you well..

Jesse

The amazing thing about genes is that you could end up with any combination. My husband has dark hair & I have blond. I had 3 girls with brown hair and a son with dark blond hair.

If you have a recessive gene for blonde hair, it is possible. As well, you could end up with a child who has dark blonde hair, as the brown and blonde genes could cross.

Well that depends if there is anyone in your family all the way back that could have had blond hair. Brown hair gen is dominant over blond hair. But you could be caring a recessive gen. It is possible if one of your parents or grandparents or great grandparents etc had blond hair.

nicely blue eyes are recessive so the toddler will probable get brown eyes yet you never comprehend. My sons father and that i the two have brown eyes yet my dad had blue and so did his grandfather and my son has greyish blue eyes. they often say that the hair comes from the fathers area yet considering you the two have blonde extra desirable than probable the babys hair would be blonde. Congratulations!

Blond hair is a resessive gene. as long as you are carrying the resessive gene, there is a possibilty. Think of it this way. consider dark hair/eyes as gene "A"-capital, because it's dominant. Then consider light hair/eyes "b", lowercase, because it's resessive. There are four combos. Each parent of course provides half of the combo. So you can have "AA", "Ab", "bA", or "bb". If "A" is present in that combo of genes, the kid will have dark hair/eyes.... So, as I said, if you carry the "b" gene, then there is 25% chance of a light haired or light eyed baby.

Yes,it could happen. My husband is REALLY,REALLY dark skinned and I'm REALLY,REALLY light skinned. Our daughter is a combination of both...a coffe with just the right amount of milk in it color and my dark curly hair with red highlights throughout from my father....too cute!!! If I were you,I'd be thinking about the baby's welfare and forget the hair color. Good luck.
