In a Visitaion case.. if you get less time does that mean your support goes up or down..?

In a Visitation battle they say they go by amout of time you spend like 33% etc.. well if you go down in time.. does that mean your support goes down.. or up?

well comming from a woman that has 2 daughters with fathers that pay child support it does not matter on how much time you spend with your child/children it is 2 seperate issues it is what you owe to your children weather you see them or not...and the judge will not lower the support if any thing it will go up they start you off at the lowest for your income at the time of the review and if you have it reviewed then it may go up depending if you make more than what you did when they set the first amout of payments so i would weigh my options and think if i would want the child support to go up....and if she is one of the mothers that spend the money on her self and not the kids then i would be thinking long and hard about hte decision that i was about to make and how your supporting her and no the kids.....so please consider you options and think on what you do

The amount of child support is determined by income not by amount of time spent with the children.

If that were the case, all the deadbeat parents out there wouldn't owe a dime in back child support.

You mean custody, not visitation, right? If that is the issue, it is up to the judge, but in most cases, custody time going down equals higher support.

The $$ is not related to time spent. It is moreso related to the costs of raising a child. Healthcare, food, clothing and other factors are used to determine the finances.
The cost of not spending time can be the effects of a poor relationship with them in the future.
