The hard thing about pregnancy is that everyone is so different. No-one can really answer this question but a doctor. It could be the hormones and no problem or it could be a problem. Safest answer is see your doctor.

I have had pains early in pregnancy and it was nothing - but I also lost a baby.

Just try to remember that your insides are swelling up right now and eventually will be growing. Hormones are going through your body to stretch your muscles to compensate for the growing parts in your stomach. These hormones are not only affecting your stomach and back muscles but can also affect your arms and legs and every muscle in your body. It is natural for you to feel some pains, even fairly sharp ones. I'm 4 months pregnant and my doctor told me that pains I was feeling were normal. She also told me about calcium build ups that can cause pains like contractions if I don't eat or drink enough. Since you're only a month along you may not be seeing a doctor just yet but go to see one ASAP. Be sure to tell them about ANY pains you are feeling even if you think they are normal or not so bad. If the pains persist, your doctor will usually tell you to take Tylenol for them. NO OTHER KIND OF PAIN KILLERS. TYLENOL ONLY!!! Tylenol is made of acetomenophen (it will say it right on the front label) and this is the only kind that won't affect the baby!

Maybe nothing. Hopefully. Sometimes in the beginning there is some cramping. If there is bleeding or lots of pain, see and call a doctor immediately. But I remember a little discofort in the beginning. Do not lift or do anything strenuous. good luck to you.

Watch the movie Rosemarys Baby. It's most likely a normal expantion of the pelvis. If there's bleeding involved call your doctor or go to the ER.
