I have 4 dogs (2 stay at my mothers a few days of the week) and a cat. I have had her since she was 2 months old-she's about 10 months old now. As much as I've tried to discipline my dogs, they still like to play rough with her and chase her everywhere. She stays hidden from the dogs on top of tables, countertops etc. When I feed her I have to put her in the pantry which is about 5'x5' so that the dogs don't bother her or eat her food. The dogs have never tried to bite her, but I'm wondering.. can I find her a better home? Or is she alright here?
*I am fostering a new dog I found on the streets. He loves her, but still loves to chase her.

She also can't sleep in my room at night because the dogs annoy her. She does like to sleep on the bathroom rugs though.

don't get rid of her as long as they don't try to harm her. she can get away by getting in places they can't. she will be fine. I'm sure she loves you and the dogs and would be heart broken if you got rid of her. eventually she'll get bigger and the rough playing won't bee so dangerous and she might even grow to enjoy it. I had a siberian husky and a ct and she used to play so rough with him but when it got too bad he'd just walk away. is she declawed? I hope not, that's a good way for her to protect herself. if the dogs bother her too much she can scratch them and that usually keeps them from doing it again. plus declawing is cruel, it's chopping off the first half of their toes...
hope everything works out okay! I'm sure she'll be fine, better than if you made her go through you getting rid of her and trying to learn to trust new people.

It sounds like your cat is afraid of the dogs and 4 dogs are a little much around her. Either find a home for the cat or get rid of some of the dogs. Dogs usually chase cats anyway, don't they?

Keep her. Find a better place for her food though, (*you can put a hole in a cabniet (one on the ground) (cut it nice and neat) and place the food in there under a sink or something. As long as the cat plays back and doesn't continous growl and attack the dogs then i say keep her. she is used to it by now, just make sure that she has a place to go to be alone.

Why so many dogs? It doesn't sound like a real comfortable place for the cat to live in. If you can find her a really good home where she isn't being bugged by dogs, I think that would be a better life for her. If you can't find a better home, just try to make her life with you as good as possible.

Unless she exhibits behavioral or health problems from obvious stress, I would keep her. There are too many homeless animals, and it sounds like you care about her, and that's what's important. Because she has always been around them, she will probably find ways to adapt to the situation, and may even end up loving/playing with the dogs.

It's in a dogs nature to chase cats. It's just what they do but as long as the dogs aren't hurting her or she doesn't seem scared of them, then I would suspect that she's fine where she is. You should keep an eye on her though so you can notice any changes in her demeanor.

Is the cat happy? If the cat is miserable and afraid all the time then yes, it's time to think about another home. If he doesn't seem to mind being chased, then perhaps not.
Only you can make the quality of life decision.
Best wishes.

Sounds like your cat needs a new home. She can't be happy in that situation. Take it to the SPCA. They are very strict and find good homes for their animals.
