Most funeral homes do not employ a cosmetologist, as we are trained in mortuary school how to do cosmetics. We have extensive training about color and matching, therefore a licensed cosmetologist on staff is unwarranted, as we are trained to do the job. You may want to try contacting a funeral conglomerate, such as SCI or Meridian, they may be more apt to hire. Take care!

You could open a shop that does both: Cosmetology and Funeral Touchups.

it is according to wear you live and the demand for that such service.Usually family's have their on cosmetologist to come in and do the work. But, you can also get contracts with certain funeral homes and the price is set at that time. Big cities are your best bet.Go and talk with them i would estimate that they would pay 50.00 per person . This is a good profession to get into being as you would always be in business. Good Luck.

Most funeral directors/embalmers do the cosmetizing themselves. If a hair dresser has done a person's hair for years and years, the deceased may have requested before death that the hair dresser do the hair and makeup after death, but otherwise, we do it ourselves.
