I can cook fairly well, but i'm afraid it might be a bit of a struggle with my son running around. But then, it's my 5th anniversary, will my husband want to go for a nice meal instead of eating what i cook?

Cook and send your son out somewhere. Cooking shows that you have put a lot of thought into it and you care to take your own time out of something. Gd luck!

You can ask your husband first - but if I were that husband, I would suggest that: why don't we have a nice light meal at home with our son, celebrate a meal with the family, and then both go out for a desert or after-dinner drinks....This way, you both can have a good dose of pure quiet time to enjoy with your spouse, rather than having to communicate over dinner proper.

Meanwhile,.....HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Cook for him during the weekday, then find a sitter (and a Designated Driver) Friday or Saturday and enjoy a night out! That way he gets the best of both, and your son can be a part of the weekday celebration as well. You can make it a candlelit dinner, complete with dessert and everything.

Go out to a nice restaurant and then you two can cook up something special in the bedroom when you get home that evening.

Have fun!

You should enjoy your anniversary as well. Get a sitter and relax and go out . Let someone cook for you and wait on you hand and foot for a change!

Go out! It's your anniversary too. You deserve a break from cooking. :)

I think a nice relaxing night out would the ticket for your 5th anniversary.
Any restaurant that both of you likes, a.k.a. seafood, steaks, or whatever.
