I see alot of kids on here asking what to get moms for Christmas. I think all mothers would agree it's the thought that counts.I am a mother myself,35 years old.Two beautiful girls 16 & 13. My mom died in 1994 from a battle with breast cancer. I know just having all her children together, being healthy and happy was good enough for her. As I feel the same way. I remember and so did she, once when my brother was around 7(he is now 34 and a father of 4 kids),we got to go shopping with the school. He had bought her a pink razor, you know the bic ones, that had 6 sides, and he just thought it was the most wonderful thing ever(mainly becuase it was pink),,,,,and so did my mother.Live this day as if it was you last. As a Mother or Child this year think about the fondest memories and if they were no tomorrow what would yours be?

Bless you that was a fine letter to all these kids asking about what to get their mothers...Its true ,anything a child gives you is precious, rather it be homemade or bought, just like the pink bic your brother bought your Mom...I lost my mother last christmas and I miss her so bad,and sometime chrismas holds a little bit of a sadness because of it..I remember when I was small,I bought my mom a dust pan cause she didnt have one...So i would like to add to your letter by telling these kids..........Just get your Mom what you can and give it to her with love and she will treasure it..

I have memories of a different sort of my mother. As a single mom I really couldn't buy much in the way of gifts. But I always tryed to spend $20.00 on each of my parents. Of course this didn't look like much compared to my sisters gifts who had no children and was an RPN. My mother informed me that I was a cheapskate. It was all about the size and cost of the gift. My mother and I havn't spoken for almost 20 years. There were other reasons involved but it has unfortunately been for the best.
My family's priorities are shall we say a little off centered. In order to have any feeling of self worth & value as a person I have had to move forward with very sparse interaction with one of my sisters. Memories growing up are for the most part sad, lacking the warmth and love that should have been there. My best memories are of my children and grand children. Hopefully we can make a better future than what we had in the past!
Merry Christmas!!

One of my fondest memories is playing music as a child with my dad and sister. My dad played the tin whistle, my sister played the violin, and I played the piano. Sometimes we would play Christmas songs, but more often than not we just played the traditional Irish and folk songs.

Another one is the day my niece was born, and my mom and I were both there in the room with my sister to witness it. My family isn't that close, but I could really feel something special that day. My niece has really brought happiness into my life; for her, I live every day as if it were my last.

I know these memories aren't too Christmas-ey, but they're my fondest ones.
