It's part of their belief structure to proselytize; they believe they were commanded to do so by Jesus himself. Their scriptural basis for this belief is Matthew 28:19, which says, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."
Personally, I find it annoying as hell; I don't try to shove my religion down anybody's throat, and I wish they'd do the same for others. Which begs the question as to what happened to the part about "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," doesn't it?

Its a Christian's Job to spread the Gospel. Its all about belief. I wouldnt try questioning it because it will just confuse the hell out of you.
Well the Christian church i go to doesnt cram everything down. Actually they let me be who i am. I dont have to memorize like 100 verses each time i go.
To answer your last question is maybe God knows everything.

On behalf of all nice Christians, I'd like to apologize if you've been hurt by someone who claims to be Christian.
If I tried to talk to you about my faith, it would be because it's what's important to me. I just want what is best for you. It will always be your call to accept it or not. I wouldn't be loving my fellow man if I didn't tell anyone about what's made my life complete. But I'm not gonna look down my nose at you because you don't believe what I do; I'm no better than you.
So just know that if a Christian tries to talk to you about God, it's not because they think you're some evil, horrible person that needs to be robotically converted. They care. Just say "thanks" or "no thanks." There's no need to be nasty. Tolerance should extend to all religions.
have a good one,
Mel
p.s., Jesus loves you! ;D hehe!

They'll tell you they just want to save your soul, that they want you to know their god. Some of them are near-sighted fools. Others are well-meaning, but lack tact. Some of them just play the game and enjoy the drama they can create. It comes as a duty for them to spread their faith, just as Jihad comes to Muslims. Remember that Jihad has many meanings besides "war".
The real christians, the ones you don't see, are the ones living their life the way they believe Jesus would want, the ones that have that influence permeate their every action, and color every motive and perspective they have.
I, however, am not of any specific religion, and just wanted to toss that out there to avoid conflicting messages.

You think this is just Christians? Have a Jehovah knock on your door. Have a suicide bomber slam into the World Trade Center. People can't quietly keep their spirituality to themselves...
Amen.. let's all pray! (for the ability to have out own beliefs)

because if i know that God exists, and i know that there will be the end of my life, and that the goal of my life is to serve God, and help people, what else would you expect to the on the center of my mind??? God, of course. God has something to do with everything going on in my life, so my answers would involve God in them. Such as this one.

Because those types of Christians (there are many) are self-righteous egocentric people. Take it from me... going to college in Utah when you're not religious can be quite frustrating at times.

First of all, someone said "its natural for all religions" and thats not true. Ever heard of Janism? Right, thats because they don't spread their religion. Christianity is one of those dogmatic religions with many faces, most of which tend to follow a doctorine of absolutism (yeah absolute for them and YOU)

because they are close minded and dont care if other peolpe have different beleifs. All they care about is how their god is great and they try to shove that into our faces. They need to respect other peoples religions.. I try hard to respect theirs...but it's hard when they dont respect mines.
