Is $100 extra to much just for a design on a cell phone?

My girlfriend wants to buy a sidekick 3 which cost $249 and im okay with that. But she wants to get a special designed one thats pink for $100 extra. Now were not rich were young, we both live together were trying to save money for christmas,wedding,buying a home and i think its a complete waste of money. We got into an argument about it and i just wanna know what other people think.

I think if she were to leave you over this, you should consider yourself a lucky man. Is there any way you could get her mad enough that she would leave?

This is an extremely immature young woman (heck she's no woman, she's just a big 'girl'). She wants to pay an extra 40% just so she can have a "PINK" phone! What will she want to do next year when pink is no longer the 'hot' color? Get a new phone?

Yes, a $100 is too much and she is going to ruin you financially until she grows up.

When I bought the pink razr I paid $30 more for it than I would have if it was silver. However, verizon gave it to me for free because of new every 2 year credit where I get a free phone every 2 years (worth $100). Then there was a 80 dollar rebate, so really all I paid was the $30, so it didnt seem too bad.

I agree consider buying the phone it self is already a luxury so why spend extra just to for the sake of "showing off".

But sometimes women are like that i.e. guys always wonder we need more than 5 or 10 pairs of shoes.

So maybe you can speak to her and rational it out that a phone is a phone so as long it functions the outlook does not really matter.

You sure could put your $ to better use than that. It is a cellphone for goodness sake.
You got bigger priorities, man. If this is a sign of things to come, you have got some serious issues after you get married, because a budget won't count for spit at this rate.
If you were a little more well off financially, and not getting married, buying a home, etc.I don't know if I would even splurge for it even then.
It is still just a cellphone.

$100 Yes! Most designs/colors/special editions of cell phones usually are $20-$50 more; but $100 seems way too much! That's like buying a car for 20k, but one has tinted windows so that one is like 25k, seems stupid huh!

i know what sidekick coloring company your talking about and i think its a total rip, its too much for a paint job. but then again colored accessories are very important to girls so heres my idea, make the paint job her x-mas present.
