Of course.

When I graduated from high school I visited a friend to pick up her dog that her dad had been abusing (she was supposed to go to my moms).. but I could not let her go. She went directly to my house with me and I wouldn't even let my mom see her for weeks. Over the past 4 years and 3 dogs later.. she is the only pet I've ever had that can sense my emotions. She licks my face when I'm crying, when I'm happy she runs around the house with me trying to play "tag", if I'm angry and yelling at my boyfriend she lays down and watches me til I'm done--then lays on my lap. If anyone ever tries to jokingly hurt me, she makes her presence known by a growl, bark or a snap.

I can sense her emotions too. When the other dogs want to play and she's irritated I have to yell at the others and tell them "bad". I've also seen her cry before.. seriously. Once she was crying so I thought "what if she's sick?".. I took her to the vet and it turns out that her dermitis had just gotten worse.

I <3 Maggie May. basset/beagle mix

--also, the day I got her she could not stop licking me and would not leave my lap (the entire 3 hour drive and even at home).

of course, animals love unconditionally. there are always those people out there who feel pets are just pets, but animals don't feel that way, they see you take them into your home and feed them and love them and protect them, they know. anyone who can't understand that and feel the love animals give is probably heartless because the love from an animal is the purest kind.

i can certainly feel the warmth of my pets hearts. our bond is very strong. it's easier to feel this with pets than people. animals hide no feeling but people have been taught to do so. kylie anne is totally right.
