I have to say with my first child I walk a lot. not only did it make the birth process easier but I dropped a lot of the weight as soon as I gave birth. I think walking a lot helps during and after pregnancy. when pregnant the weight you are loosing may not show until you finally deliver your baby. So it does pay off for some.

Losing weight during pregnancy can be healthy as long as you're not losing the weight that your baby needs. If your pre-pregnancy weight is categorized as overweight or you've been gaining too much weight during your pregnancy, then walking could help you to lose this weight. Also think about whether or not eating very healthy could help you if you've been eating mostly junk! I've also heard of Yoga for pregnant women. It's been known to help with labor also. Look around in your area for classes like these and always talk to your doctor before you start something new. Your doctor may also be able to help give you some suggestions as to what you can do to help your specific needs.

Yes pregnant women can loose weight in general. I have lost a total of 10 pounds from my pre pregnancy weight and am now 39 weeks pregnant, but the doctor has only been ok with this because I was overweight to begin with.
The best place to ask this question would be your doctor. Only they can determine exactly how much you can gain/lose during your pregnancy.
Walking is definately not a bad thing during pregnancy and when combined with a good diet should help your body go in the direction it needs to go whether it's losing or gaining during pregnancy.
