Dr Hawking has Lou Gerhig's disease or amyotropic lateral sclerosis. This devastating disease virtually turns all the nerves within the spinal cord to, for lack of a better phrase, mush...more or less.
To achieve an erection, it is begun by the parasympathetic then maintained by the sympathetic nervous system. The same is true for bowel and bladder control. So if he has sex, it is not likely via an erect penis, because the para and sympathetic nervous systems are not going to be reliable.
Dr Hawking is in the midst of a divorce, currently, and I would guess, not having intimate knowledge of him, this in and of itself would curtail any sexual activity.

It is unfortunate that we hav some people who are interested more in the brawn of somebody else than in his brain. Stephen hawkings has a brain far more superior to amny of us , but the the questioner iseems to be interested in his body because of its deformity . Is the questioner making fun of his bodily deformity in stead of wondering at his marvellous brain?
