We are beyond the whole should we or shouldn't we have invaded Iraq. We are there now, it is a mess and we need to clean it up. The only way for that to happen is for the US to stop playing the backup role to the Iraqi government in Iraq and take charge... again.

Leaving Iraq in the disorder it is today should be unacceptable to any Americans. Especially those who whine about the number of civilian deaths that have occured. Do you think if we leave that the Shiites and the Sunni's are just going to put down their weapons? Do you think that the Kurds in the North aren't going to get attacked from all directions? Turkey would like to see them cease to exist. Iran, Syria and the Sunni's. Genocide? What Saddam did to the Kurds will be childs play if the US walks away now. Then who will share the responsibility of having the blood of the Kurds on their hands. I would say it is all of those that demanded the US leave. Our own countrymen included. Bush may have not handled the mission in Iraq in the best way but that is beyond the point now. We can't just walk away.

People like dstr disgust me. If nothing else, his/her response to this question makes it perfectly clear that he/she wants the US to fail in Iraq and in a big way. If this person is a citizen of the US he/she is one piss poor excuse of an American and should be singled out and ostracized for his/her treasonist behavior.

Oh my! Good Golly! Gee Whiz! What an unimpeachable source! Two UN named civilian employees in the war dept which is directly under the Bush/Cheney thumb! Meanwhile, the real military Generals on the ground almost to a man say Bush is doing it all wrong. Which ones to believe? The civilian DODs who have lied to us from the beginning or the career Generals who don't have to toe the Bush line? Like Dan Rather, ABC chose poor sources.

You screaming at me that I am a moron will not change any body's mind one twit. So what if there are brand new Iranian weapons on the ground? Have you forgotten that bin Laden was supplied with US arms a long time ago? That his entire family was flown out of the country secretly on 9/12/01 by your hero? All weapons producing countries sell or give weapons to anyone who they think will support their agenda. Yo r hero declared a Crusade against the Muslims 5 years ago. It sounded like a slip of the tongue, but his actions since prove otherwise. His Crusade is launched, never mind that he has already run out of troops in the current war he blundered into AND snatched defeat from the jaws of victory within 3 months after the war's start.

But you know all there is to know. So why are you sounding so miserably angry? Show me convincing, believable evidence that my sources are wrong & I will seriously reconsider my position. Just 3 weeks ago I believed Bush may have had some good motives in Iraq. One piece of thoughtful video, followed by a lot of further research, changed my mind completely. But you seem to know too much to do that.

If Iran is supplying weapons to Iraqis, that means we don't have to spend the money supplying them. I see this as a good thing. Consider the alternative. We supply weapons to the Iraqis so that they can use them to kill us. I don't feel like paying with money and blood.

If there was anything good enough, it would be news that America annexed Iraq and will become the 51th state of the union (sorry Puerto Rico).

Ha ha ha. You believe ABC. Ha ha ha ha ha. You believe the Government. Oh, wait, wait... weapons of mass destruction, we'll be out before the year is over, we're going to help the Iraqi people and not line our pockets, and oh yeah ... the Israelis and Saudis are nothing like Saddam, and we'll stand by while Isreal targets civillians in a DEMOCRACY because we don't like who they elected. ha ha ha. Dude, I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Too bad it is over such a tragedy. Quit flag sucking and learn what real patriotism means.(Hint- Learn the facts, not the crap that spews out of network news, and don't blindly follow anyone)

so... there are more shias... right... and they were the elected majority... right?

so they already have the power? right?

that's like saying the Republicans were plotting to take over the U.S. a year ago... they are in power, why take over when you are in control?

Iran and Iraq are going to become very cozy bed buddies because that's WHO THEY ELECTED, people that are very Iran friendly... and nobody but you and three other crazy people want to stay there forever... we can't afford that...

The problem of Terror groups has been perpetuated by our presence in Iraq. When will you see the truth in that? We have created enemy's all over the world because of the unjustified invasion of Iraq. When will you see the truth in that? The Iraq debacle has cost countless people their lives, for the Illusion of safety in America and the Guise of Liberation for the Iraqi's, knowing both were impossible. When will you see the truth in that? No one has gained from this war except for the ones who started it. When will you see the truth in that?

Good link.

If we retreat from Iraq then Iran will get control of the oil in the gulf, they could easily raise the price of oil to what ever they wanted say--$200. a barrel, Hugo Chavez and Saudi Arabia will go along with them and we could suddenly be confronted with Iran dominating the world through oil.

God help us.

It is worthless to continue debating over whose fault this is, guys.

It is proof that Russia has been arming Iran, as Russia already admitted to doing. It is proof that Iran is arming Iraq.

Stop fighting Americans and start being one.

Proof of what? So the Iranians are selling weapons to Shia militia and Hezbollah is in on the training end of it. What is this supposed to prove? That this war was justified? I don't know anyone on YA that has claimed there is no involvement from Iran, or even Hezbollah for that matter. There are many terrorists in Iraq. We made it real easy for them to set up camp all over Iraq when we blew the country wide open. These people are bound and determined to slaughter each other whether we are there or not. They've been doing this uncivilized crap for centuries. Is this your justification for "staying the course?" There is no "course" any longer. Civil war is raging and our troops are stuck in the middle of it. The situation gets further out of hand every day, and no amount of bull-headed stubborn rhetoric from Bush can change that. His own people are rebelling, trying to make him listen to reason and admit that Iraq is an unbelievable mess that we need to approach in a different way before the entire Middle East goes up in flames. Have you seen the latest poll? Only 17% of the American people believe Bush is right to claim there's no civil war right now in Iraq. Yes, most of us have finally learned not to trust Bush when he talks about Iraq. And that's not only in the polls, but in the votes tallied on November 7th. Iraq...pffftttt. If we'd stayed in Afghanistan and finished the job we wouldn't be chasing terrorists all over Hell's Half Acre in Iraq right now.

Iran didn't assist Iraqis until well after our invasion and occupation of Iraq.

Put at least some of the blame on Bush where it belongs.
