Howard is a well respected, historically Black college. It, Morehouse and Spellman are the big three in terms of historically Black universities. It's a fine school with a lot of high-powered graduates. It held a singificant place in the civil rights movement.

It's undergraduate programs are considered strong. Many of its graduate level programs are highly respected, including those in law, medicine and divinity.
