i just found out that most people are against abortion,isnt it a way of gettn rid of unwanted pregnancy?

Most people are not against abortions. Most people would rather prevent abortion and unwanted pregnancy, but realise the need for it or simply don't care. Yes, abortion is a way of 'getting rid of unwanted pregnancy' or ending pregnancy. There are certain groups of ignorant people who believe that abortion should be banned. These people are very vocal about their beliefs, but are clearly not the majority.

EDIT: Pretending that full term pregnancy and labour and adoption is safe and always physically and psychologically healthy as the best choice is not a solution to abortion. It's just a way of promoting ignorance. Abortion is sometimes the responsible consequence to unwanted pregnancy.

Many people are against abortion, sometimes it's imbedded in them as a sin, sometimes it's a personal moral issue, but either way everyone has the right to choose the appropriate method. Having the child and putting it up for adoption is viewed as a morally correct method and many families incapable of conceiving would jump at the chance to adopt the child.

However, when a woman decides to get an abortion they usually think it over seriously. People seem to forget in blind rage that it's not the easiest decision to make; many women spend hours mentally tearing themselves apart trying to think of the right method for THEM. Yes, there are some women who truly don't care, nor do they actually think things through, but those that do find it extremely difficult and can fall into major fits of depression.

In the end it should be a decision thought over with the utmost care, and if the man wishes to still be with the woman, then they should talk it over together in depth. Everyone should be free to choose how to proceed with such a delicate issue.

What an abortion actually gets rid of is a yet to be born BABY. Some abortions accrue naturally and can't be helped, some are sadly necessary to save the mother from life threatening pregnancy complications.

The problem most people have with abortion is with the so called 'Abortion on demand' were the mother just decides for what ever reason, she does not want to be a mother anymore. It is the same problem were a mother of a 6 month old would for what ever reason, just decided she did not want to be a mother anymore. Of course no one would be in Favor of her having the right to 'choose' to drowned her baby in the tub.

Yes it is a way of getting rid of an unwanted pregnancy, but so is blowing your brains out! Most people think that it is killing a baby. As do I. But remember, you can always put the baby up for adoption. There is a waiting list for infants. It is a cowards way out to kill it. You made the life, now suffer the consequences. Be a woman about it, not a little girl, if it happens to you. Many people will pay big money for a private adoption as well.
