My hamster is eating, drinking and pooping regularly. She just doesn't run on her wheel. Her skin is fine. She seems to be overweight. She is only 5 months old. She seems to be walking slowly, leaning at times, and gasping for air. What should I do?

I have had rats for a long time and I'm assuming they are similar creatures. Small rodents are very susceptable to respiratory problems and tumours. Take her to the vet to get a check up. It shouldn't be too expensive. If it is a respiratory problem, make sure you are not triggering it. What have you got for bedding?? This is the site I get a lot of usefull info from http://www.dapper.com.au/ Maybe you should look up an online vet?
