I know how you feel, I've had a lot of bettas but I loved each one and cried when they died. I have 5 males and 8 females right now, and I can't imagine them dying. there's no real way to get over the sadness, just try and remember she cared about you too and wouldn't want you too be sad. don't listen to the people who say to just get another fish, give yourself time to heal first. once you can think about her and not cry or get too upset then consider getting another one. never think of it as a replacement though, just think of it as saving a life. a lot of people don't know how to care for betas or fight them and they end up dying, you seem to have done a pretty good job if she lived for 2yrs, so think of yourself as a good betta owner and when you're ready save a betta from a poor owner and pet store diseases.

Try getting another fish. Clean the tank real well first. I would suggest peroxide, after emptying it out. DO NOT use soap on the tank, as it leaves a film that will cause the fish's gills to clog, killing them. Make sure the tank is cleaned well, then filled, and allowed to set for several days to remove the chlorine from the water, then introduce the fish by placing the fish, still in the baggie, into the water, letting the fish adjust to the temperature slowly. After that, release the fish from the baggie into the tank, water and all. Fish are sensetive to sudden temperature changes, as well as cold and heat.

i'm no longer totally constructive what might want to have brought about this- yet until eventually you discover out: put off the useless fish and adjust the water earlier the disease- if it really is a disease or the different style of transferable ingredient- spreads. i'm hoping something else of your fish are ok!

.I hope you took it out of the tank ASAP. Especially if you have other fish, it will contaminate the others. You will get over it if you find a good replacement
