I clicked on an interesting question and then pulled up, "why are you searching here? there is no question here!" I guess that is a mirage.

Yes...it looked exactly the way it's portrayed in movies/TV: a giant shimmering lake out ahead on the highway. This was in Death Valley in the summer of 2002.
