Because they want power. If the US tells Iran to do something, they have to listen, because Iran can't remotely threaten America or any of its allies at the moment, whereas America can easily wipe them off the face of the planet.
Iran wants nukes, because those are something the West is afraid of. They will get treated with more respect when they have that power. That's why the US doesn't want to give it to them. Iran is pushing for them now, because the US military is too stretched out to stop Iran from getting them. They wouldn't have dared to try this four years ago, because that would be just inviting a global coalition to invade them. Now, the people are weary of war, and there are no troops to spare, so Iran is pushing.

I believe Iran wants nuclear technology to build nuclear bombs first to drop on Israel and to supply terrorists to use against the US. This will result in US and Israeli retaliation which will bring about the return of the 12th Imam who fell down a well and will return to lead the people of Islam into world domination. If this be true and that is why they want it, the US has a few to spare

Iran has nothing. No nuclear weapons of any kinds! It's quite sad actually because they are the country we do not want to give nuclear devices to because they will miss use them and kill many civilians everywhere. They want nuclear technology to be like everyone else.

nuclear power
it should be noted the UN and the American atomic research people have repeatedly said they do not have the plutonium of sufficient quality to make bombs nor do they have the capacity
we are talking about the [possibility of this happening
it sees pretty hypocritical when the USA sayes we have them but you cant

It's quite simple, the Iranian President is intimidated by America and Israel and he despises both greatly so when he gets a nuke or more than one he can use it as leverage against his enemies.
