Does anyone know what can be the sideaffects of getting the shots? I know that they were given to me so it would help my sons kidneys to develope but I want to know what other problems my son or me could have for getting that. Please help.

It is actually to help the surfactant on his lungs develop so he could breathe. It does no harm to him

Also lung development for your son... I also had them but 8 shots! It can cause hormone mbalance as well as thinning of hair(only a few months). Weight gain, breif loss of sexual drive I believe that is all

i too had the steroid shots for my sons lungs. I was 31 weeks in preterm labor. They did not harm him at all just helps mature his lungs so he would be stronger if he were to be born premature

Hi
My daughter was born 17 weeks early (23.2 weeks) weighing 450 grams. I only had the chance to get one of the injections. The only problems it can cause is if either your son or you are allergic to it, otherwise their is no known side affects. Their are more things to worry about, than just getting the injection due to prematurity.

it's for lung development not kidney ask your doctor if you suspect you are having side effects
