Yes, *ALL* of the SS had air induction hood. More of a "show than go" feaure, but looks really cool.

If you open the hood of an SS you'll see convoluted ducting that brings the air from the middle of the hood back to the front of the engine where the air cleaner and throttle body reside. Back in the carburetor days it made sense to put the ram air up there where it was closer to the intake. In this case, any "ram" effect will be negated by the convoluted ducting. But Ram Air is kind of a farce anyway - you need to get up to 200MPH before you get only a few percent gain in "supercharging" effect. The bigger benefit would be getting cold air rather than hot underhood air, but even the non-ram air cars don't suck hot underhood air.
The main effect of the ram air hood (SS) is it LOOKS COOL and I want one for my Z28.

The Trans Am only had ram air in the "WS6" top-model, which was equivalent to the Camaro SS. The intake scoops are down low on the front of the T/A so any ram air effect (however minimal) would be superior than the Camaro SS - but the Camaro SS hood looks cooler.

Oh and someone said that the ram air cars were built by the firm (SLP) that built the Firehawk. That was true BEFORE 1998 thereafter they were built in the standard F-body factory using parts FROM SLP.

Best feature of the SS: Bigger/better wheels and tires, But also unique (not sure I prefer it like I do the SS hood) rear spoiler, aforementioned hood, SLP exhaust, leather seats, and SS badges!!!
