ask your self if this guy is really worth it. loosing a best friend. most of the time he isn't so i would steer away, but you find that he's just what you have been waiting for tell you friend that you like him and say that you have tried to change your feelings but you can't. say your sorry about it but if they ever do break up you would have dibs on him. good luck!

Definitely he's off limits until they separate of their own accord. Once they have, and some time has passed, I'd say he's yours if you/he want it. Though, as a courtesy, I'd recommend discussing it with your mutual friend once you start to get closer. e.g. "Dave and I are becoming closer these days. I hope you don't mind if I pursue this and see where it ends up. I know you two were once close." See what she says.
If she's truly a long-time "best friend" (the type you'll have for life) and she's very upset about this, I'd suggest backing off... unless you really just think think she's being a jerk about it.
Then you might say "I hear you, but I think you're hanging on to him more to be spiteful --to him -- than anything else; you aren't still interested in him that way, are you?" See if you can get her to back down.
If she's not that good a friend, tell her as a courtesy and regardless of her reaction, go ahead.

Never ever hook up with a guy that has gotten with your friends. That is a rule that all girls should know. Just think, do you have a good friendship with her? Do you still want to be friends with her in the long run? If you really do like him, it could just be an infatuation, but if you are really serious about him then take a chance then go for it. Just keep your friend in mind, even mention to her that you like or liked him, just as long they are not together.

See its good that some one u like & same person would like u . U can even ask ur friend to choose from one of u and be sincere with other relationship . It is sure ur one best friend will never be ur friend again. But i would like to ask u only one thing that if this person chooses u & will be ur bf & later if some other girl comes in his life & he whants to choose her in his later life . How do u feel ? Is ur friend the right person to be ur Bf? What is the extend of ur both relation ship u have decided? so think twice when u join or break a relation.

Don't betray your girlfriend. It could crush her for life.Wait and see if their relationship fizzles. If the feelings are still there then pursue them.
