The Second amendment was put there to ensure that the other 9 remained.

That's all I have to say.

you will have a argument with our political correct croud on this as they will say leave it to the police for our protection, so lets have a little test, first go to your neighbors house and kick the door in and shoot every one in the house , then loot the house while the neighbors call the police, after you are finished get in your car and leave, see how much time it takes the police to arrive, you are already gone and every one in this house is dead and you have alll of their belongings," this is mockof course" many police depts aer telling the peoplea' we can not protect you" ,and
the ones who are honest will always say that, now one other thing we have admitted over 1.5 million muslims into our country these peoples religion tells them the infidel must die , we are the infidels, or have you forgot? the gov, has restricked or banned so many of our weapons the civillians are practally disarmed, but you can bet they have many different weapons smuggled in and are hidden, since a large number if not all are sleepers waiting for the call to arms when we are being attacked from the out side,
our gov, has passed laws where they can not do anything to stop them so it will be up to the citizens to do it and with out our guns do we have one chance in hell ?so you people who have given up your guns because GUNS KILL had better rethink your decison and go buy some guns and learn how to use them effectively or you might be speaking Arabic and kissing the ground 8 times a day takeing orders from some Imam, and even worse for your wife , daughter, mother etc, do you need proof ? then look at bangdelesh, the philipines, Iraq, lebnon, you will certainly get your proof, and many other countries around the world ,

Americans need to maintain the right to bare arms - however there has to be a healthy middle of the road concession due to the outrageous numbers of people who (a) are not qualified to even touch a gun because of immaturity or pure stupidity -and- (b) the seedy, criminal element.

In Britain criminals lauded the banning of guns. They say now they do not have to worry about the home owner blowing them away with a handgun or shotgun when they break in. They can take what they want and best of all (for the criminal) is THEY have guns. Criminals do not follow the rules.

Its not an easy prospect in keeping guns out of the hands of criminals - but taking guns away from law abiding Americans is not the answer.., obviously.

Americans do however need to be qualified for gun safety and required to maintain safeguards when owning one. If this country were ever invaded - there would be no Militia, no resistance.

It's kind of hard to tell because a lot of things happened concurrently, but it sure seems like it. From 1939 on, with the exception of the voting rights act, things have really gone downhill, with downward plateus (1969, 1986, 1991, 1994) marked by new gun control legistlation.

Gun control as we have seen it in this country does NOT work. Any criminal that want's a gun gets it, no maybes or appologies.

In a report by the The Joint Military Command in Iraq (supressed by the Washington Post and all their toadie followers) The civilian crime rate (excluding military and insurgent actions) is lower in Baghdad than in Washington DC... and everbody and their dog not only has guns, they have grenades and RPG's in their closet.
The man on the street is very polite.

all i have to say is that if they put a law that says you can't own a gun, all it will do is make a little more trouble. Yeah good people won't have guns, but killers and cops will have guns. So all it does is take american citizens rights away from owning a gun that can save their life.

I have nothing against law abiding citizens having guns, now i do think some gun control is necessary. Those who continously break the law need to be banned from having the guns, those who dont abuse the law should be allowed to have as many guns as they want.

Can't argue with you. My experience is that the vast majority of anti-gunners know very little about firearms. Had a (very) few who let me educate them a bit and take them plinking, and they changed their minds. Of course, I've lived where the positives are frequent and obvious, and the negatives are rare, so I can see how others in different circumstances could get the wrong idea about the things.

I am against gun control unless it is military weapons. These should not be allowed. There needs to be more control over these, but I think that is impossible. You can even buy an M16 on the internet.
A person should be able to have a gun in their home for protection and also a gun to hunt with.

Gun control is very important. You should always aim carefully.
I think that self defense is a basic human right. This means that people are entitled to have the means with which to defend themselves.

You miss the point about gun control...
armed citizens don't protect america anymore...
so that point is moot. and never will again...

actually they never have.

they were always formed into a standing militia...
not individual killing machines..

thats the problem todays.
guns in the eyes of criminals...
founding fathers would have hanged them next day.. no appeal..
and that is the essence of where our country has skewed away from justice..

nothing is done to criminals.........
