In Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain, she mentions that you write an affirmation 10-20 times and its negative on the other side, then at the end write affirmations to counter those negatives. However then what do you do with your original affirmation and the new affirmations listed overleaf?

Affirmations work.What is happening by repeatedly saying something to mind you are convincing your mind.If the mind is convinced the rest is easy.Scientifically speaking you should not write negative affirmations,because it will have negative effect.So if you want to use affirmations to achieve your ends,write what you want(positively only).Like ,I am rich and becoming richer every day.It is not necessary to write,best way is to repeat yourself mentally several times before you just go to sleep.

Writing negative affirmations will counter the help this technique is giving you.It is best to PRINT not write out no more than three positive (never use the word "not")affirmations ten times write before you go to bed and then repeat them slowly and silently to yourself while falling to sleep.However the next day it is important to repeat the affirmations as many times per day as you remember to do so.In order of preference this is how you should do it:1.Verbally with strong emotion while looking at yourself in front of a mirror 2.Same as 1 when you are not in front of a mirror 3.Silently reading them 4.Repeating them silently from memory.By using one of these four techniques you can use your affirmations hundreds of times a day which should be your goal.One very important final tip;every time you use an affirmation,try to visualize in your mind yourself doing it.These techniques will speed the time that your affirmation turns into reality.

Jeezus. How about dispensing with the freaking affirmation writing and just live your life, trying to do it the best you can? You're so stuck on the methodology of affirmation you've forgotten that they're only symbolic of what you want.
