I'm moving to Las Vegas for work and I don't know anything about the city. Is the area of Las Vegas Blvd. and E. Tropicana a really bad neighborhood for a single 22 year old female? I'm sure it isn't the best neighborhood judging from the cost of apartments, but would I be afraid to go out in the parking lot at night or to leave my Aveo in the area?

Any new city can be tough for a single woman. Vegas is not a high street crime city. Oh, there's plenty of criminals all right, but the city makes its living on tourists, so they don't tolerate street crime. Kind of ironic, but the really big criminals are the casinos, and they keep the minor ones in check. I've been there and have friends there. Not to say be careless, but the streets are not war zones, like Detroit, Newark, or AC. Call the local PD for specific details for your area. Good luck.

Not a bad area. Tropicana has solid apartments all the way out east to Boulder Hwy. I live just barely north on Harmon near Sams Town & no issues. Think you'll enjoy it. Feel free to e-mail via answers if any qs.

I lived in that area. In my opinion it has gone downhill. I don't think it would be safe at night there. I lived on Tamarus Street near Trop & Maryland Parkway. I'd look out West Tropicana.

be carefull at night time of course no matter where you live,actually l.v.blvd and tropicana is'nt that bad,there are worse sides of town.a good place to call for any assistance you need is the l.v. rescue mission,they have furniture really cheap,they have imformation or help of any kind.Very big on christianity..be very carefull of las vegas.People are very self centered and always in a hurry..big hurry..i have lived here 35 years,be carefull mostly of downtown fremont street.Try not to travel alone...i hope i have helped,if you have any questions or need help of any kind.All you have to do is ask and i would be happy to give you any imformation you need to know..take care.

That area is not the best. but for the money, its not "naked city" and a lot of cabbies and strip workers live there....
