Tom Brady - drafted in the 6th round of the 2000 draft.
How did that work out for the Patriots.

Michael Vick?????????? You can't be LESS of a steal. HE WAS THE #1 PICK. How about Terrell Davis, and Tom Brady. Both were taken in the 6th round. Antonio Gates was definitely a steal, but also remember, he was a COLLEGE BASKETBALL PLAYER, NOT FOOTBALL. So the Chargers got a little luck with that one too. I didn't realize that Johnny U was a 9th rounder. What a steal with that one!

Karl C has the right answer. A three time Super Bowl champion QB who was drafted in the 6th round? That is a major steal!!!

well it depends. since its the modern era (only 7 rounds) there are new deffinitions of "steal" Joe Montana and "Broadway" Joe Namath dropped to the 3rd round. Brad Johnson went in the 9th round as did a little kid named Johnny Unitas. Through the modern era so far I would not say there has been a great steal in the modern era. in years to come some people say it will be reggie bush or antonio gates we will just have to see

Tom Brady who was a sixth round draft pick who has gone on to win 3 SuperBowls.... Ben Roethlisberger who became the youngest qb to ever win a SuperBowl in just his second season in the leauge. Big Ben was a steal for the fact that the 2004 draft was filled with controversy surrounding Eli Manning and where he would go. Alot of fuss over Manning and Rivers who were supposed to be 100 times better than Roethlisberger and neither of them have much to show for it.

For me it's a no brainer. I'll take terrell davis who was picked in the 6th round by denver. In 5 season he won 2 suprbowls, 2 mvp trophies(sbmvp97,leaguemvp98)rushing title '98, fastest to 5000 yards. To top it of he is a semi-finalist for 2007 HOF. He easily is the most overachieving player in sports history.

Off the top of my head I would say Johnny Unitas, he was picked in the 9th round.
The biggest recently that I can think of was Antonio Gates, he was undrafted and the Chargers signed him for $7,000.

too many to list
but i'll start with joe montana the best quarterback ever drafted in the 3rd round
jerry rice, walter payton- arguably the 3 best players at their position of all times were later picks.

Gotta agree with Brian J. Big Ben was a steal big time! No other player taken ahead of him that year has even come close to the impact he has made.
