Sorry if you see this question some where else. I posted it wrong.

I am wondering what I should do for Christmas. I am not very close to my family as we had a fallout. I am in my 20's, married, and have a young son. Question is... my family (parents...) are getting us gifts as I know. I am wondering for simple Christmas Ideas for them for gifts.

They rarely seem interested in our lives, and never see us. Nor is the rest of the family close. I would feel weird getting them something extravagant, but I can't just give them a card... type of thing.

Thanks in advance! Merry Christmas!

How about a photo alum filled with pictures of you and your husband and son. Maybe it will make them realize how much they are missing by not being closer to you.

How about a gift certificate from their favorite shopping center. You could also get them a nice gift basket for the whole family. I think it is a shame that people can't even be close for one holiday season. Merry Christmas to you. hope all works out well and everyone is happy. We have to remember what Christmas is all a bout. The Birth of Christ Jesus. It is not just gift giving . It is all the love and memory's that go along with it.God Bless.

With the holidays and such, it may be the perfect time to have a professional photograph of all of you taken. Then give them a nice 8x10 framed when it is done. It will give your son a sense of family pride being able to see his grandparents whenever he wants, even if it is only in a foto. But maybe something more could come out of it. More time spent with their grandchild in the future. I am a VERY strong believer in Family. You just never know if in the next minute your family will still be complete.

give each kid a stocking full of dollar store stuff (toys, note pads, etc.). Another idea would be a movie on dvd or something like that. A box of candy is always a good gift to receive, so you can try that. Or you can buy then crazy carpets or sleds, something everyone can use. ;) think about it and good luck

Wow, I really liked the responses here. I think an album with your family photos, a framed photo or a scrapbooked album would be the perfect gift.

I suggest a gift card for a night out ie...dinner, movie etc.
I am not close to a sister I just found out about but last year I sent her and her husband a gift card for dinner and a show, they loved it

Maybe get you mother a bottle of nice perfume that isn't too expensive.
Maybe get your dad something you know he will use, like a leatherman, you know those combination knife, pliers, screw drivers all in one. Maybe a good flash light like a Mag light.. Something like that.
Or Maybe get them a gift together like a coffee maker if they drink coffee or something like that.

Gift certificates are good, or how about a framed picture of your family?

Just send them a card and leave it at that. You should not buy presents just because you are obligated to. You should buy for people that you want to buy for.
