If you didn't buy the fan yet you have to consider the size of the hole of the old fan. It is best that you buy one of the same size so you don't have to saw a bigger hole or worse cover it to make it smaller to fit the new one.
The process is easy remove the wires from the old one fit the new fan and screw then attach the wires and make sure you cover it well with a rubber tape to insulate even if you have the cap. Enjoy!
So how many gay men does it take to place a new fan? 10!
1 to place the new fan in! 9 to applaud him an say Cez manifique Bye!

Turn of the power to the house or flat at the fuse box then push a flat screwdriver under the fan cover this should just click out underneath will be some scews undo them carefully lower the fan unscew the 2 wires usually red and black try to remember which one goes where reassemble the same way some fans have a green earth wire but not many if yours is an old place then where the 2 wires go is not that important but if it is a new house it is important try not to let the 2 wires touch just incase someone wired the house wrongly it is best really to take 1 wire out while the fan is just hanging there put that wire in the new fan let it hang then do the same with the other wire that way you cant make a mistake

It's really not difficult, the fan comes out after you unscrew the casing holding it up. Disconnect the wiring, attach the new one and replace in the existing hole in the ceiling.
