Hi, I am 14 and have always wanted to write a book, I think I want to start, but I am afraid that my ideas are close to some books I've read (not to close though.) When I was in 6th grade, whenever my teachers had writting assingments, poems, etc. they used to give me A++'s and on my poems my teachers asked me If I got them off of the internet (which kind of annoyed me.)

When I was 5 I wanted to write a book on a kid who could make toys come alive, but when I was 7 I found out it was already done (Indian in the cupboard). I also like fantasy, battles and all, but not to much. I've always loved narnia, and wanted to write something like it, but with a whole different plot.

I would really love ideas, but only if you are willing to give me a couple sentances of them if you have any, because I don't want to have Ideas from someone who might write a book later on. Another problem I have os critisizm, I can stand constructive, but I am afraid of people saying I ripped off something.

I also feel as if if every thing has been done, like there are no more ideas that I could do for a book.

P.S Does anyone know of a good website that can help with this problem?

I might want to add-

I've lived in China, Lebanon, and now living in America, they are so different, and it was so weird adjusting to america, and so many funny things have happened in my life in each of those places, that I think people might enjoy, do you think I should add that stuff in?

That way it could really be mine with my own experinces that happened in my life.

First of all, there is nothing new under the sun. Everything has been said and done at least a trillion times so don't worry that your ideas will be similar to someone else's.

Write a story about a little boy who changes into a different animal every day. Just pick up a pen or pencil or if you might be more comfortable at a keyboard, just begin writing and let the story go its own way.

Good luck. Write well and write often.

That's what inspiration is! Upturning old ideas into new ones! I think your fears are very unjustified. If you can look at it, and write about it differently, you can make others do the same. That's the magic of writing.
I'm a little concerned about the sensitivity to critisism, though. You will get rejected by editors. Many, many times. Gotta have thick skin.
I'd say, if you're really serious about this, you should go and find a writing group for your age group you can join. If you find it hard to produce ideas on your own, other people can be great. Or find a forum on the internet or talk to a friend. Although, personally I don't like talking about my work, it really does some people good, so, follow your instincts about talking to people, and don't worry about people accusing you of ripping them off.

well it doesn't matter what ideas are being written, it is basically written already. Every book is the same. It is just how the author expresses that idea. Like how good does this author brings out these ideas to the reader. Everything is basically written.

Write about how weird it is adjusting to America

Write about a dream you had and expand it by more by adding ideas.

Try that for awhile.

You should add some of that stuff. I, aslo being a teen writer, know what your going through. I've had at least three failed stories in the last two years. Just listen to you soul, it will point you in the right direction. Oh, and try it with mostly human characters (all animals is incredibly hard! I've done it once....)

I agree, there is no such thing as original.
The best idea is to find your audience. Write to somebody. Books are always dedicated to someone because it is to that someone that the writer is writing.

Write what is on your heart and have a notebook on hand to jot down ideas. Use your imagination. The world awaits for a new beginning.........

Write about what you know about... so, yes, your own experiences would be a starting point.
