I would like to think so but there are stories of dogs doing things for people that even people wouldn't do for other people, or their dogs. Plus there are stories of cats nursing puppies when there mother abandoned them or died. Maybe animals are more evolved than people.

Not necessarily. Some people that love animals, don't love people; so that is not very evolved. When somebody can love animals and also love people, that is a sign of broad appreciation of life. But some really great people just aren't that interested in animals, though they are kind and humane.

No, I have seen many people who love pets and animals who are plain stupid and appear to be decidely unevolved from a mental perspective.
I have also seen people who dislike pets and animals but appear substancially more evolved than others in a variety of ways.

I think so, because pet/animal people are more compassionate. They recognize that all creatures are a part of God's plan, and we are to enjoy them and treat them with dignity and decency. So yeah, to me, the more evolved people are, the more kind they are to animals. By the way, you sure are hot.

LOVE is not something that has evolved. Evolutionary biology can't explain where LOVE came from.
Is it possible that there is no such thing as evolution? In the traditional sense that some scientist like to believe.

No, its just normal to feel some compassion and empathy. The roots of fascism are the abolition of guilt, sympathy, empathy and compassion.
Abnormal people actively neglect or abuse.
Or laugh at normal levels of empathy and sympathy.
But 'animal lovers' also abuse pets. They refuse to worm or vaccinate, they try home diets and home remedies. Ask any vet or dog home. People can love their pets and children and still harm them.

No, evolution has nothing to do with it. In fact the more modern our lifestyle the less time we have for pets. It does however show a capacity in that person for compassion which seems to be an old fashioned value.

I once heard a woman who doted on every animal in the world say that she wouldn't donate a penny to a children's charity as she hated kids and they deserved nothing.
Then again, you get the bizarre animal liberation cults, people who won't even keep animals as pets because it demeans the animal.
I think it all goes hand in hand - learn to respect people and animals. It msut go hand in hand.

I would say yes. It takes emotional intelligence to empathize with animals and appreciate the value they bring to our lives. It also takes a higher moral being to have compassion.
