It depends on where you live and also if you plan to work in retail or hospital pharmacy. A rough average not knowing where you live would be about $100,000 per year. Also if you decide to work in retail, some chains pay a lot more than others. I have heard pharmacists that I work with say that Target pays more than CVS. Try http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/salary to get a better idea of the salary range in your area. Good luck with your degree.

**Edit: Using your location the average pay goes up to about $112,000 per year ($9333 per month, $53.84 per hour).

you say you are getting your PharmD. Does that mean you are in Pharmacy school......or hoping to get in?

Salaries obviously varies from region to region. Just pick where you want to live, and you'll find work.

Adjusting for cost of living, there are some places that Pharmacists make more than others. But who REALLY wants to live in Midland/Odessa Texas?

I live along the Wasatch Front in Utah. The money's good, but I live here by choice.

"Nanners" has some seriously dated info. The only pharmacists that make 70K annually are part-timers. 90K is a reasonable base amount. But that excludes OT, bonuses, etc.

The national average appears to be in the 90sk. Regionally, there are pay differences. Areas with high demand tend to pay higher. Technically, the highest average pharmacist pay belongs to the pharmacists in the Twin Cities, MN area, and they were followed by some cities in California.
