.doc is the native file for Microsoft Word documents. That would be the program you would need to open them.

It appears that some version of Microsoft Office was loaded on your computer. That is why you are being asked for the 25 digit Key Code. If this computer is new you should have received the number with your computer. If you find this you can put in the 25 digit number and continue on your business. The *.doc file extension is a program that was created using MS Word. As the other people stated you can view this document using WORDPAD. However, that will not solve your problem with the username, password, & 25 digit #. Look for the Authentication Certificate that say MS Office. The 25 digit # will be on it.

The program you need is Microsoft Word. It is part of the Microsoft Office package. It does NOT come with mst computers using windows XP, they come with WordPerfect (they are 2 different programs).
A solution for you is to download the file to your desktop and then right click on it and click on open with and then click on the browse fora program. Use either Wordpad or Textit to open the document. You probably will not get anyof the formatting (Pictures or fonts) that was in the original document.
Another solution, is if you work in a school district or office, most of these work situations have an extended software license that allows you to also install the software on your home computer.
Good luck!

You will need word installed on your computer to open that file.
