Per Pen Dic u lar is five syllables.
So you can rhyme by numbers of syllables like this. And, Syllables are like individual sounds. So, the word prognosticating rhymes in the numbers of syllables with five being the number of syllables or sounds, like perpendicular.
Now sound is an other way to rhyme. The pro and per rhyme; the nos and pen are even lettered and formed the same way, di and ti are the same sorts of sounds; ca and cu are equal in length of sound; and ting and lar are single sounds.
The rabbit could be both perpendicular and prognosticating.
Or more poetically,
The prognosticating had gone on and on
Until the perpendicular was an unlikely posture.

Good Luck.
