My cars trac off light came on today and now its stalling. It's a slow shut down, like first the heater noise got fainter then when I stopped it stalled. :-( s It does turn back on. I drove it straight home and when I turned it off it made a gurgling noise! There's a clicking noise coming from are where the ETS button is. When the TRac OFF light came on I first tried hitting the button but it didn't do anything. It was also the first really cold day of the year today. I take it in Monday and don't plan on driving it again until then. Just looking for any idea of what it could be so I am can not appear clueless when I take it in.

not sure if this matters but the first time the trac off light came on the car didn't die but it jumped all over the place and the rpms were going all over the place.

This sounds like a short. If your heater motor started to slow down, you best check if the car will even start before Monday!

Ya Dodge Man hit it pretty good. My bet is the Trac light came on as a warning for over temp of tranny fluid. Before you start it make sure it has plenty of coolant as I bet that is your trouble. When was the last anti freeze change.....over 3 -4 years and you may have frozen the system.

i own a repair shop, and it sounds like it might have gotten hot on you ,there are several things that might cause the light to come on though especially when it shut down on you ,that may have been from an overheating problem, and you said it shut off but started right back, when one gets hot it can trigger several things to happen on that car,the trac off light that's just the traction stability light on it ,but heat can trigger it also,,i think it got hot and i would advise you not to drive until you can get it looked at,,you can damage it by running it any more,,good luck,i hope this help,s.
