The line Y=-5 is a perfectly horizontal line; Y does not change even if X does. Since Y does not change, and slope is defined as change in Y divided by change in X, slope is 0.

That is the same as any other line equation:
Y=mX+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept
In your case, there is no x so there is just a y-intercept
slope=0
also, it you plot this it will become a horizontal line,
slope can be found by taking the amout the line changes in the y direction and putting it over the amount that it canges in the x direction (rise over run). If you do this than the slope will be 0 also. I hope this helps

Ok...the slope of the like y=-5 is 0 because to find the slope of the line you use the equation y=mx+b and m is the slope and b is the y-intercept...in y=-5... -5 is the intercept and there isn't an "m" number so it must be zero.

The slope of y= -5 is 0. This can be written in y = mx + b form where m is slope as y = 0x - 5. This is a horizontal line.

Im assuming you are doing a quadratic equation in which case x, or slope, would be 0

Any graphing equation that states:
y=#
is always a horizontal line.
Therefore, there is no slope.

it is a line parallel to the x-axis.
remember x-axis is y=0?
therefore, this line is 5 units below the x-axis.. (:
