Power. Liberals are all about power so they can run our lives for us. I'm from Canada and have been subject to the tyranny of liberalism most of my life. They have bought there ways into our hearts with our own tax money, and then used the power they sought so hard for to lull us into a place where we neeeeed them to care for us, cuz we don't know how to do it for ourselves... feeeed meee, coddle meee, love meee, tell me what is right and wrong.... reeducate me from my natural conservative common sense....
Then, after a generation of controling us, they convince you that everyone else is the "anti-liberal" and will never love you like they do. They rob you, lie to you, sleep around with your ugly women, and you don't care, why? cuz they luv me... it's ok if they steal from me....
Liberals love power, cuz the more they get, the less independant we become, and the circle continues...

It's definitely not personal freedom! Liberals are actually against freedoms such as school vouchers and homeschooling, making it harder on parents like me, hahaha. Based on how I was when I was personally a liberal, several years ago, I think that it's safe to go with the "baby killing" and "themselves" answers.
