No. They are not as efficient as you might think they are.

like Google Earth.... yeah they have better systems.... but I am not sure how life action it is but I read stories that say they can read the number plate on a car, which is way better than google earth. Plus since they control this through a number of spaced based satellites they have a slightly better tool than Google Earth. Having said that, the time and expense would prevent them from spying on everyone, instead they probably focus on specific missions such as hotspots in the middle east.
The reason these systems are probably not as fast as they would like, is that they still cannot take out terrorist activities as they happen. There is too much ground to cover unless they know exactly where to look.
Same goes with computers, a old system that has probably been replaced is called Carnivore, this system would be installed at your ISP if they suspected you of doing some illegal activity, while it cannot see what you doing on your computer, it would intercept and copy all data from the internet and your computer for later analysis to determine what kind of threat are you.
Since Carnivore has been retired for the most part, it means that they possibly have an even better replacement for the device. What properties can that new one do? Your guess is as good as mine.

absolutely! the homeland security bill eliminated just about all of your rights to privacy. although not admitted, just about all phone calls, banking transactions, and movements of people of interest are monitored. the bill was a devise to enable further erosion of our bill of rights and constitution which up this point has been the biggest hurdle for control and absolute power over the masses by the elites of the world. google earth is a toy compared to real time surveillance satellites, heat sensitive cameras capable of seeing through walls and listening devises that can hear a pin drop a mile away. computers/cell phones and even hard line phones are all open channels now days. if you have nothing to hide, don't worry. just act like your always being watched, listened to and video tapped and you'll be alright. welcome to the "new world order"

Hello,
Well, if you decide to purchase an HDTV or if you already have one, you are now being watched by our oh so lovely United States Government.
I heard about this in 2002 and here is an article about this very thing.
Crazy you may say, oh really, give me reasons why this is so crazy and why is it we are bombarded with ad after ad showing how COOL HDTV is and that we MUST have it.
Did you know that by 2009 if you do not have an HDTV you can no longer watch TV? That is unless you purchase an HDTV adaptor.
We are no longer safe in our own homes.
Privacy, what privacy?
Did you know that no where in the US Constitution does it state we have a right to privacy?
Hope this helps you....................................... : - O

Your first question no.. your second question yes... they actually do monitor the computers and look for certain things that people search for, key words.... so if you punch in things like "How to kill the President".. more than once.. you might get a knock at your door

unamerican my ***. one word: propaganda. finally someone besides me sees it. I think they definately could see into us if they wanted to, but theres really nothing i can do about it so i dont worry about it too much. i think half the people on yahoo answers are actually people paid off by the government. did you know that every single country in the United Unions have simailar rights as us? Too many americans think that in america and only america these freedoms exist.
sorry. i'm ranting.
and to answer your question: yes, but i think they have more things to be concerned about, like pointless wars with people who dont think the same as we do, and WE cant accept that. not them.
sorry there i go again.
(and american eagle icon? i dont want to judge you or anything, but wow. i didnt think someone....preppy would think about something like this. kudos.)
wow i just noticed it automaticly censores out cussing. *** **** ****

no the government is no where near as strong as you make it sound. their efforts are used elsewhere but they do have information about everything you do stored on file electronically. Mostly medical records and tax information...etc
